PCCS Statement from President Carli Whittaker

PCCS Statement

As a specialist society concerned with the health of children, we (PCCS) are compelled to
address the needs arising from the conflict in Gaza.

Children and young people are, without a doubt, adversely affected by conflict through death,
injury, malnutrition, disability, psychological suffering, displacement and the loss of education,
family life and childhood. The challenges to accessing essential medical services for children
in conflict zones are a reflection of a broader humanitarian issue that concerns us deeply.

We advocate for the end of war and the prioritisation of healthcare for children. We support
the work of those providing vital care under extremely difficult circumstances.

Carli Whittaker
President PCCS
