PICS and PICANet modelling to estimate minimum PICU capacity required during the covid-19 pandemic

PICS have worked in collaboration with PICANet (www.picanet.org.uk) to produce estimates of the number of PICU beds that need to be available across the country to ensure that critically ill children (whether they have covid-19 infection or not) continue to experience the best outcomes in the NHS. Paediatric critical care networks and NHS England should utilise this data to ensure that essential PCC capacity is maintained at a regional and national level.
