Meet the PCCS Council

The PCCS Council consists of the Officers, Doctor Members elected in accordance with the Regulations, Doctor in Training Members elected in accordance with the Regulations, and Nurse or Allied Health Professional Members elected in accordance with the Regulations. The Officers are the President, the President Elect, the Immediate Past President, Vice Presidents, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Secretary.

    PCCS PRESIDENT

    Carli is a Critical Care Educator at Nottingham Children's Hospital Paediatric Critical Care Unit.

    Her interests are paediatric intensive care, renal replacement therapies, neuro trauma, education and simulation, human factors and travel.

  • ADRIAN PLUNKETT

    PCCS PRESIDENT ELECT

    Adrian is a paediatric intensivist at Birmingham Children's Hospital.  He was elected to PCCS council in 2020, and to  honorary secretary in 2021.  His interests are sepsis, epidemiology and Learning from Excellence (LfE).

    Patrick is lead consultant for the Nottingham Paediatric Critical Care Unit, and works also with the CoMET retrieval team. He has a strong interest in research, publishing widely on diverse topics such as electrical impedance tomography, pharmacostability of Plasmalyte, and the alcohol consumption of James Bond. He has an interest in physiology, many and varied sports, and looking after his chaotic family.

    Akash is the Director of the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at King's College Hospital, London, and Chair of the Renal/CRRT section of ESPNIC.

    His interests include sepsis, liver failure, neurotrauma and acute kidney injury/CRRT.

    Dr Ajay Desai is a consultant in paediatric intensive care medicine at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, United Kingdom. He is the lead for the paediatric ECMO programme, with a special interest in extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (ECPR). He is a faculty member of the SPRinT (simulated interprofessional team training) programme, and has been a member of the education committee of the International Paediatric Simulation Society (IPSS) since 2012.
