This new Paediatric Critical Care Outreach Teams (PCCOT) PCCS Special Interest Group is to draw together teams across the United Kingdom to collaborate and continue to develop PCCOT

Aim:

The aim of the PCCS subgroup is to enable a forum to establish standards for paediatric outreach and share data nationally to improve patient safety.

Scope of work: 

The PCCS PCCOT SG will:

- provide a point of contact for any professionals with an interest in paediatric outreach, acute deteriorating patients. 

- share learning and good practice within paediatric outreach.

- facilitate the implementation of current and future guidelines and competencies for paediatric outreach teams and ensure these are utilised.

- facilitate communication between groups of outreach teams nationally.

- facilitate local and national research, service evaluations and quality improvement projects to improve patient safety and management of the deteriorating patient as an outreach team.

- support new and developing teams establish their services, business cases, education strategies, standard operating procedures.

- facilitate local and national development of data points.

- provide a point of contact for any other professional bodies with an interest in paediatric outreach.

- facilitate local and national teaching and education projects aimed at improving the care of deteriorating patients that paediatric outreach teams are involved with. 

Members:

We welcome all with an interest in paediatric outreach; medics, advanced practitioners and nurses.

Meetings:

The PCCS PCCOT meetings will be held quarterly and will be virtual and/or face to face and will be quorate when the group Chair or Deputy Chair and 4 other members from different hospitals are present. Meeting agendas and meetings will be shared on this page. The meetings run with a rolling Chair representing a different hospital each meet.
